-e Lacros Bypass (Install extensions) (v96)

Requirements: -> Chrome://flags must be unblocked -> A computer that can access chrome100.dev and the Chromebook Recovery Utility

Recommendations: -> Use CAUB to stop updating, preventing lacros from being lost

Results: -> Installs a browser with an unblocked profile -> Lets you launch incognito and install extensions

Notes: -> Steps 1 to 7 must be done on a personal computer at home. —> This will wipe your computer! Proceed with caution!

Instructions:

  1. Go to https://chrome100.dev
  2. Select the image corresponding to your chromebook by clicking “See more”.
  3. Select ChromeOS 96(96.0.4664.111). If it is not there, your chromebook is not supported!
  4. Download the image.
  5. Install Chromebook Recovery Utility at https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/chromebook-recovery-utili/pocpnlppkickgojjlmhdmidojbmbodfm?hl=en-GB
  6. Click the extension and press the cog gear to use a local image.
  7. After using the local image which was the downloaded file, flash the image onto a sd card or usb drive.
  8. Plug the sd card/usb in the chromebook and press esc + refresh + power.
  9. Wait for the image to install.
  10. Follow the setup instructions, but do not update your chromebook if asked to!
  11. Login in with your school account. Press login and turn off your wifi!
  12. Open Chrome and enter chrome://flags into the address bar.
  13. Search for the lacros availability flag and enable it.
  14. After restarting, more options will appear in chrome://flags.
  15. Go to chrome://flags and search for lacros support and lacros primary.
  16. Enable both, turn off your wifi and restart!
  17. After doing that, go to the lacros browser (yellow chrome icon) with your wifi off and go to chrome://settings/signOut.
  18. Click “Remove all data from the device” and press sign out.
  19. After doing that, the lacros browser will restart into an unblocked browser. Congratulations!

Notes: -> If the browser prompts you with a profile picker screen, click the school account and repeat steps 17 to 19.
